Sometimes, by just listening to the first 5 seconds of a song can improve your day - 'Everlong' does this every time for me - it puts a smile on my grumpy chops! It works on all levels, the acoustic version gives it a different edge, but the Studio version is like a Rollercoaster for your ears - the slow start, driving guitars & drums and the perfect sing-a-long chorus takes you on a musical trip with its highs & lows....can songs get any better? Possibly, but for me this is top 3 of all time!
"Guaranteed to put a smile on your face!"

ReplyThe bloke on the far right of the picture is definitely not smiling.
ReplyDespite hearing the acoustic version on an episode of Friends, I love this song as it evokes happy memories. Great video too! 'breathe out so I can breathe you in'. Boom that's a line! Even Sophie couldn't resist that! I think on the B-side of this single is a rocking cover of 'Baker Street' which London Scouser introduced me to and it's probably my favourite track of theirs.
Rocking? Who uses that? I sound
Replylike Cliff Richard!
You're welcome Mr Fly. To choose a Foo Fighters song for me would be really hard. They have been truly consistent from their first track up to their latest release. I'd be hard pressed to name my fave of theirs but as a documented covers freak I would maybe agree with Baker Street but their version of (Vanity Six's) Drive Me Wild comes very close.
ReplyGood track SFW.
Great song, never heard the acoustic version, I hate friends, infact I don't have any friends!
ReplyGorgeous song and not listened to it for a while. Hmmm think I need to hunt out some Foo Fighters as the soundtrack for the day now ...
ReplyThe Foos always have the right combination of rrrock and sentiment. Definately one of my favourite songs of theirs. I also love "Times Like These" and their more recent "Walk" which I would sling into the very same catagory of loveliness.
