MIDWEEK CRISIS? Gym subscription expired? Come to WEDNESDAY CLUB, Mr Winston Rodney will soon have you feeling the fittest of the fittest of the fittest.
FROM THE FRONTLINE
BURNING SPEAR - Marcus Garvey (in the studio)
'If you don't like reggae' (I love Her) give this a chance and if, after you hear the 'Great' Burning Spear, aka Winston Rodney and still don't like reggae, then 'you are in the wrong place my friend, you better leave '
He is my favourite reggae artist, after of course Bob Marley. This video is as good as it gets.
I saw him once with my wife and it was one of the most amazing gigs I have been to, at one point she turned to me and said she was crying, this is true, the tears at that point were streaming down my face, 'Lay down your arms' was the song. One of many greats available to you my friends by the Burning Spear.
Check out the album 'Marcus Garvey' plus dub version or 'Chant Down Babylon - The Anthology'
Here is the original Version

Tulis commentsAgain someone I wasn't familiar with - will be listening to more on holidays! Great story!
ReplyYou failed to mention you sing this tune to yourself without even knowing you're doing it quite often! I find reggae so emotive, it gives off it's own heat. Burning Spear is definitely the one to get in to....
ReplyBurning Spear was one of the first reggae artists I got into after hearing 'Marcus Garvey' and 'Slavery Days' back in late 70's. Untouchable.
ReplySB...well said. 'Untouchable' just about sums it up. I don't have many regrets but missing that concert was one.
