DYLAN COVERS #154 Sean Keane / David Moore - Abandoned Love

I see you in the streets, I begin to swoon

SEAN KEANE - Abandoned Love (2004)

Here are two pleasant enough covers of that great song which could have been on Desire but was left of for the inferior Joey. Mistake there Bob, I think. There are a few really good version of the song out there, notably the Everley Brothers and George Harrison.

The first take is by Irish singer Sean Keane and can be found on the album  A Portrait,  Best of 1993/2003(2004). The second is by David Moore and this one is on  Paupers, Peasants, Princes and Kings - The Songs of Bob Dylan (2011).

Sean takes the honours.

Never heard the David Moore version before but it's ok.
The Sean Keane is like a pixie fronting a Dylan tribute band; which is kind of a good idea, I suppose but not for these ears. Quite ridiculous in its overstated Oirisihsness. Sorry.

The Everlys' version is lovely, but I don't think either of these interpretations add anything to this great song. It's always interesting to hear these finds though Old Pa!
