DYLAN COVERS #112 Hazel Dickens/Seldom Scene - Only a Hobo

Howdy! Hazel

HAZEL DICKENS - Only a Hobo(1986)

When I heard this track by Bluegrass whizzo Hazel Dickens it just blew me away and I could not stop playing it. It is just pure bliss. Her accent is so good. It is taken from Hazel's album  It's Hard to Tell the Singer From the Song (1986).

Listening to the track inspired me to find some more Bluegrass Dylan covers and it was not long before I found this other little gem by Jonathan Edwards and The Seldom Scene, it is from their self titled album from 1988.

Sorry! I can't hang around I am off to find some more Bluegrass covers. Watch this space.

Very nice indeed. Both are great but that Hazel Dickens edges it for pure soul for me.

I'm with Mr Bear. The Hazel Dickens version is particularly fab.
