LAMBCHOP - You're a big Girl now(Acoustic)
Where's Kurt ? |
I first got into Lambchop during the Nixon era, not the early seventies during Mr Nixon's 'discretions' but from their 2000 album 'Nixon' I was immediately hooked on main man Kurt Wagnor's deep tones and their low key sounds, brilliant stuff. I have been a fan ever since.
The Acoustic version was recorded in a Hotel room in Paris and is definitely an interesting take on the tune.
The Band version is from Nuremberg Germany on the 23 Oct 2008 and captures the beautiful low key trademark sound scape of Lambchop. Not to be missed, stunning.
'You're a big Girl now' comes from Dylan's 'Blood on the Tracks(1975)' album
Oh! one for the road I found this by chance ....this did blow me out! big time!

Tulis commentsTotally wonderful. Kurt meets Bob - it doesn't get any better. Where did you find the band version? Bootleg? I need! Thanks for posting this.
ReplyHi SB just back from U.K. got lot of catching up to do.....found it on the brilliant series NSDLD Vol 28......what a performance!!!!
ReplyThanks, Old Pa. Will try and track it down.
Reply"I can change I swear" - you just feel it when Dylan sings it. Applies for the whole song IMO. But this is good no doubt.
ReplyThanks DBF but as they say 'No one sings Dylan like Dylan'
ReplyI don't know the original but it's a fantastic version in it's own right with Kurt delivery. Love the Black Cab session, probably couldn't do that in the back of a Nissan Sunny on the way back from pub though!
