Fionn Regan - The End of History

TUESDAY BLUES

Do you like Singer/Songwriters/Alt-Country/Americana or Indie-Folk, or do you have a unhealthy affection to the sadness, if so you may have a case of the Tuesday Blues!

Fionn Regan - The End Of History (2006)

I've always liked the Irish, (in fact my Granddad was from Cork), I love their humour and admire the musical talent.  They just seem to have troubadours everywhere.  Whether it is Damien Rice, Conor O'Brien (The Villagers), Glen Hansard.  The list goes on and on.  It pains me to say that I keep on neglecting Fionn Regan. Like a spoilt child I buy all of his albums, give them a quick listen and move on. So this week I have been undertaking a marathon session listening to him again and it has been rewarding.  A songwriter, poet and wordsmith of the highest order I implore you to give him a go.

Fans include my fellow Welshman, Rhys Ifans, who even has his lyrics tattooed over him! Tidy mun

Nice tune. Not really acquainted with his music but I don't think he has obligatory beard.

I remember reviewing this album for the paper. I eulogised about both it and him, but then heard nothing thereafter. If you like this, chances are you'll dig the sublime Ben Kweller.

SB - You are right! First one for a while (apart from the ladies)

Jon - thanks for the comment. I've got a couple of albums by Kweller but he's another that I have sadly neglected. Any recommendations?
