Tim Burgess - A Case of Vinyl (2012)
This has got sadness by the bucket-full, and I love it! I heard it on a free cd from Mojo magazine and I had to do a double take when working out who was singing. We (should) all know that Tim Burgess is the voice behind indie legends The Charlatans, but to be honest, I haven't heard any of his material for years - which is clearly my loss because this has made me sit up and want to get hold of his album, which is supposedly out in September.

Tulis commentsNever a huge Charlatans fan but this sounds great. Thanks. Not quite what I expected from him. Must hear more. Is he turning into Ryan Adams?
ReplyAlways thought they were a bit 'iffy' the odd highlight here and there, but this is excellent.
ReplyI've always had a lot of respect for Burgess as he's clearly such a big music fan, as evidenced by his recent 6music shows, but, much like Singing Bear & Old Pa's Corner, The Charlatans drifted off my radar some time ago. This is terrific though. Thanks for posting.
ReplyLooks like we'll all be checking out his album! Thanks for the comments - always appreciated - and welcome aboard 'The Swede'.
ReplyVery nice track, I knew he was up to some solo stuff but never got round to investigating it. This is good though, I like the feel.
