TUESDAY BLUES! Shearwater - The Snow Leopard

Shearwater - The Snow Leopard

I've only recently discovered the joys of Shearwater after Old Pa told me to give them a try.  Although a fan of the birds (see below) I decided to visit their website and quickly downloaded a number of free tracks.  I must admit I'll often find one or two tracks by an artist that I like, but I was awestruck by the strength of their material and in particular "The Snow Leopard".  This has echoes of Radiohead's Pyramid Song, with a singing style that has hints of Wild Beasts??? Hmmm, well maybe.  But I've caught the bug and picked up their latest album "The Animal Joy" which is a real treat!

Shearwater was founded by Jonathan Meiburg & Will Shelf of Okkervil River and features a percussionist called Thor who coincidently is the man impersonating a helicopter in the video - enough said!
