BON JOVI - Chimes of Freedom
Here are two from Mr Jon Bon Jovi himself who it appears is a bit of a fan of old Bob and the first record he bought was by Bob. Hey! Me and Jon Bon have something in common and in fact he has risen a few notches in my estimation. The first take is the Chimes of Freedom and was a live recording taken at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park NJ in September 2001,
The second is a live acoustic take from Japan in 1994. It is a shame it is only the one verse, but a good effort never the less.
I have a couple more JBJ Dylan Covers on file which I may feature at a later date Maybe!

Tulis commentsOld Pa, I'll have to brave myself to actually listen to these. That bloody hair! Surely they can't be any good? I'll see if I can find the strength tomorrow.
ReplyI was right down at the front of a Wallflowers gig at Dingwalls in 1997, gobsmacked at how much Jakob looked like his old man, when he suddenly stopped the show to bring on a special guest. The audience held its collected breath - who would it be? Bob was in hospital at the time, so we knew it wouldn't be him. One of his Dad's cool mates perhaps? Nope, it was Jon Bon Bleedin' Jovi, with whom he proceeded to murder 'The Weight' and another cover or two!
Reply'Chimes of Freedom' - no wonder they are still taking orders at the bar.
Reply'Just LIke A Woman' - Sounds like he worked it up sitting in his bedroom the night before. One verse? Jon is probably good at what he does but this isn't it. TS, you saw The Wallflowers up close? Nice. Can't say I'm a big fan but give Jacob his due for trying to do it his own way.
Thanks for the comments TS/SB nothing like a bit of BJJ to get the pulses going...maybe it is time to introduce my Doris Day cover of Positively 4th Strre.
ReplyOld Pa: THAT I want to hear! ;)
