RICHARD THOMPSON - Girl from the North Country(2012)
This track is taken from a concert at the City Winery, New York, 15th Feb 2012 you can see the set list here.
A big thank you to the person who put it on Youtube. It really is a very nice take and excellent guitar works as you would expect from RT.
RICHARD THOMPSON - Dylan Medley(1992)
This can be found on the Boot 'Big City Classic' and was recoded on the 4th March 1992 at the Bottom Line , New York. The Medley consists of bits of 'Tears of Rage', 'Desolation Row', 'Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues' and 'It takes a lot to Laugh, a Train to Cry'. It looks like he is making it up as he goes along, but it is just nice to hear RT covering the Bard.

Tulis commentsThis version of 'Girl of the North Country' is nice. Two great talents collide. The medley is interesting and, as a totally useless guitar plucker, I was gratified to hear RT get the chords to 'Tears of Rage' wrong. I would really like to hear him do a complete version of this.
ReplyI'm with Singing Bear, a Richard Thompson full version of Tears of Rage would be very interesting - when he's learnt the chords!
