Ray Charles - Don't let the Sun catch you crying (1959)
As winter approaches, sometimes you need a song to warm you up, to be a musical companion as the nights draw in. This evokes the classic 'Rat Pack' tunes of the 50/60's and when men were men, suits were a must, and you'd probably have a drink of whiskey before, during and after work - a bit like Mad Men, but without the sunshine.

Tulis commentsBeyond brilliant and beautiful. Ray Charles stands like a towering giant over all popular music. Actually, I'd be willing to bet that Cowell would say it was okay but 'not relevant' or some such meaningless crap.
ReplyThe great Ray Charles had the pleasure of seeing him on support to Van, brilliant!
ReplyBeautiful indeed SB. I think I'm ready to be exposed to some more, but like you sfw, I'm afraid I'm ignorant. I'll check out the Definitive Ray Charles unless anyone can recommend a few crackers like this one?
ReplySmooth pal, Smooth. I think people of a certain generation sort of dismiss this, me included. It's just when you stop and listen that you realise it's as essential now as it was back in the day. Goosepimple inducing stuff, especially the second vid.
