TUESDAY BLUES!! Colin Hay - 'I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You'

Colin Hay - I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You

I only discovered Colin Hay's track "I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You" when watching the excellent movie Garden State - which I understand the actor/director Zach Braff had hand picked himself.

I knew very little of  Colin Hay and was surprised to know that not only is he is a Musician / Actor, but was actually the singer of the Australian band Men At Work.

I adore this song, but for some unknown reason I haven't delved into any of his other solo material - why? I don't know (the shame of it!) and if anyone has some recommendations I'm all ears!!!

  1. Couldn't listen to this, I'm afraid, as it says 'this video is private'.

  3. Yes, it was definitely well worth the wait. I like this song a lot. Two observations: I picked up a John Martyn vibe (which is always a good thing) and wished I could hear the old genius sing it. Also, for some reason, I was dreading the mood being broken by a middle eight and was very relieved to find that he had the good sense to keep that entirely instrumental. Excellent song performed very well indeed. I'm surprised, too, as I coild never stand that song about coming from the 'land down under'.

  5. I enjoyed this, I would call it a breakfast song or Sunday morning track. It's not too intrusive and despite the sad elements, I found it quite quite warm. Nice!

  6. A glowing warmth from the cold, not unlike peeing in a wetsuit.

  9. This is excellent, right up my street. He sounds gutted, I feel his pain. I loved 'Down Under', mind you I was 7.
